Which of course is nowhere near enough…but these are this week’s slightly random 15, in no particular order
Rules: Don’t take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you’ve read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes. Tag 15 friends, including me because I’m interested in seeing what books my friends choose. (To do this, go to your Notes tab on your profile page, paste rules in a new note, cast your 15 picks, and tag people in the note – upper right hand side).
1 Their Eyes Were Watching God – Zora Neale Hurston
2 The Autobiography of Malcolm X – As Told to Alex Hailey
3 The House of Spirits – Isabel Allende
4 Like Water for Chocolate – Laura Esquivel
5 The Lord of The Rings – J.R.R. Tolkien
6 The Autobiography of Angela Davis
7 Roots – Alex Hailey
8 The Color Purple – Alice Walker
9 Othello – William Shakespeare
10 Parable of the Talents – Octavia E. Butler
11 The Dark Tower (1 – 7) – Stephen King
12 His Dark Materials – Philip Pullman Knight
13 American Gods – Neil Gaiman

When she stares at your mouth
Kiss her
When she pushes you or hits you like a dummie cuz she thinks shes
stronger than you
Grab her and dont let go
When she starts cursing at you trying to act all tough
Kiss her and tell her you love her
When she’s quiet
Ask her whats wrong
When she ignores you
Give her your attention
When she pulls away
Pull her back

Susan Merrit posted an excerpt from my 25 Things, part of that Facebook Meme that is making the rounds.
She picked 25 people who had written out the meme, and the excerpted one of their things. I actually found out she had visited from that handy little MyBlogLog widget, and was pleasantly surprised to find her post. (Now if I could only get MyBlogLog to update my feed, that would be cool beans!)
What was interesting was the one that jumped out and grabbed her was this little pearl:
“My father was a former soldier, and a Black Power man, who helped to lead an abortive coup against the government of Trinidad & Tobago in 1970.”
